Coop Construction, Weekend #2

June 1, 2010

Three Day Weekends are supposed to be relaxing, right? Of course not…at least not in this household. Truthfully, we had no choice but to finish the coop, as the chicks are most definitely needing larger quarters. In a bit of irony, it also turned out to be the hottest weekend of the year, so far.

Clamping and leveling. Mr. CV and I did A LOT of this.

Fully Trimmed

Inspecting the nesting boxes

Roofing, with a lot of help from DT. Have to keep the girls dry!

Blatant product placement, although I've never heard of Hillson Coffee! Leave it to D!

A shout-out to our good friends and great organization at LMU!

Perfectly level (trust me on that), and ready for paint!

An 8-foot fully caged run will be constructed on the left side, hopefully by the end of the week, along with hatch doors for the windows and the chicken’s entrance to the coop. The interior is still full of Mr. CV’s tools, but once construction is complete and they’re gone, I’ll take some interior shots for your viewing pleasure.
